Insulation Removal Bag Calculator

How Our Insulation Vacuum Bag Calculator Works

Plan your insulation removal project with confidence using our Insulation Vacuum Bag Calculator. Whether you're a contractor tackling large commercial spaces or a homeowner clearing out attic insulation, this tool helps you estimate how many insulation vacuum bags you'll need—based on project size, insulation type, and depth. Knowing the right quantity of bags saves time, reduces cleanup effort, and prevents under- or over-ordering. This calculator works for common insulation materials including fiberglass, cellulose, rockwool, and mineral wool. All estimates are designed for use with Tough Bags premium removal bags.

Note: This is an estimate; actual bag requirements may vary based on the type and density of insulation being removed.

Frequently Asked Questions

The calculator provides a solid estimate based on project size and insulation depth. Actual results can vary depending on the type and density of insulation, as well as how fully the bags are packed during removal.

Yes. Denser materials like mineral wool or rockwool will require more bags than lighter materials like fiberglass, even if the cubic footage is the same. The calculator helps account for this by factoring in typical material densities.

For heavy materials such as rockwool or mineral wool, it's recommended to fill bags no more than 75% full to keep them manageable for handling and transport. Lighter materials like fiberglass can be packed more fully.
